Starting from 2024, the central government will provide financial support to some cities to implement urban renewal actions.

On May 31, the Ministry of Finance released the results of the review of the 2024 urban renewal action. The Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development organized experts to carry out a competitive review. The first 15 cities to be supported were (in order of administrative divisions) :

Shijiazhuang, Taiyuan, Shenyang, Shanghai, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Hefei, Fuzhou, Nanchang, Qingdao, Wuhan, Dongguan, Chongqing, Chengdu, Xi 'an.

Starting from 2024, the central government will provide financial support to some cities to implement urban renewal actions. The central financial subsidies focus on supporting the renovation of urban underground pipe networks and the construction and renovation of sewage pipe networks "integrating plants and networks".
